Parent Institute Day - March 26th 2010

Our 19th Annual Parent Institute Day: Strong Children, Strong Communities will bring over 500 parents, educators, child care providers, Early Intervention providers and volunteers together to network and learn about issues that affect all children and those that care for them. With a full program in English (24 workshops) and Spanish (16 workshops) held in three sessions. We are very excited to present this year’s Keynote Speakers:

-English program: Understanding the Five Love Languages of Children, presented  by Dr. John Farrell, a well known local Psychologist who engages adults in fostering stronger relationship with children through improved communication.   

-Spanish program: -Spanish program: Apoyando a los Niños para vivir en un Mundo Diverso, Presentación especial por el Dr. Juan Andrade. Miembro del, United Hispanic Leadership Institute y una persona muy activa y conocida por nuestra comunidad Hispana

Other topics covered in our English break-out sessions include topics for children of all ages from infants to teens including: How to Help Children Develop Emotionally, Building Relationships with your Children that will Last a Lifetime,Fostering Literacy Development in Young Children, and Raising a Thinking Child. We also have a number of sessions that address working with a special needs child including Autism, Understanding and Supporting the Young Child with Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, and Brothers and Sisters of Special Needs Siblings.

Other topics covered in our Spanish break-out sessions include topics for children of all ages from infants to teens including: Como involucrar a los padres en las escuelas de los niños y en la comunidad, Las preguntas mas frecuentes sobre el Autismo, Sus hijos y la intimidación ¿Como les Afecta?, Arte y música los mejores amigos del niño, Cuidar de los hijos, Como evitar la Reposición de su Casa, Adecuado Disciplina, Motivando la Capacidad de Leer y escribir en los Niños, La Clave de la Disciplina: Relacionando con Da niño, Mis Padres, Mis Maestros; Creando la  Inteligencia, y Actividades Para Bebes.
